Code for Good is an educational movement targeted towards the next generation to use technology to tackle issues and problems in the dawah scene – calling people to doing good.

Students will learn to use technology including coding, critical thinking skills, building websites from scratch to build sites and mobile apps that helps in promoting goodness, within and outside the community

The course will be in a series of workshops starting from mastering markup languages like HTML5, CSS3 and progressively moving to coding in Javascript based technologies to equip the younger generation to attain problem solving skills, to tackle issues with regards to dawah through the use of technology as an enabler.

MODULE 1:
BUILD A WEBSITE FROM SCRATCH

In today’s economy, we are in urgent need of people with coding skills to meet the demands of a growing tech industry that doesn’t look to be shrinking anytime soon!

This 6-session action packed workshop goes beyond traditional classroom and into the best practices of web designers. You’ll learn the basics and quickly speed up to confidently build beautiful responsive websites.

COURSE OUTLINE

The first series of this course will be a 6-session hands on workshop where the participants will learn how to build a responsive website from scratch using popular Web development tools.

ACHIEVE YOUR GOAL

Compete in a Web-athon

Upon the completion of the 6-session workshop, participants will form groups of 3 to compete against each other on a 1-day Code for Good Web-athon. The participants will be given scenario in which the teams have to tackle the issue with building a website to address it.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR

RAFIQUE ABU BAKAR MARICAR

A graduate of Information Systems & Management from the University of London, Rafique is an entrepreneur with a focus in web development, digital media design and programming technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript.

Before moving to Malaysia, He has been training people in applications from all walks of life for more than 10 years which includes his lecturing years in problem-based learning environment at a tertiary institution in Singapore. He breaks the boredom of classroom with his high energy impact teaching methodologies.

He is also a founder of 3 small businesses in Singapore & Malaysia.
